Ashlee Gets the Door as Nashville Star Field Narrows to Four
America, what have you done? Cute, blonde Ashlee, who has shown that, among this year’s competition, she possesses more marketable talent than most, is gone? On the other hand, Coffey, remains, like a mocha grand latte stain on Stormy’s favorite shirt. Stormy wants to believe that she’s as sympathetic as the next person, and she is. She wants to understand the viewing audience’s need to rally around Coffey after he received that tongue lashing three weeks ago from the judges. Let’s be honest: Coffey is weak, at best. Like the cup of Joe one finds at an all-night diner where the owner skimps on beans to save money. It’s watered down coffee that you set aside and do your best to choke down the diner’s day-old apple pie, convinced that something better will come along.

If You Promise Double Elimination, Shouldn’t Two Nashville Star Contestants Go Home?
Another exciting (cough, cough) Nashville Star week, and it’s another theme show. Joy, joy. This week, the contestants are wooing voters with “love songs.” Love, the common thread, masterfully interwoven throughout some of, if not most, of country music’s most beautiful, heartfelt and certainly popular songs.

Tommy, Pearl Heart Get the Nashville Star Boot--And That's Not a Good Thing
They're dropping like flies! As Nashville Star fans continued to cull the herd, Tommy and Pearl Heart hit the trail. At least Stormy got half of her wish. Before diving into this week's review, Stormy must admit that she had a Manola Blahnik moment. Yes, she couldn't find the perfect shoe, so she was a half-hour late for the show. It might sound irrational, but it isn't. However, Stormy is gifting you with the incredible insights of her best girlfriend, Bettie Lou, who didn't miss a minute of the show.

Very Few Fireworks Mark This Week's Nashville Star
Oh, family night! How appropriate as Stormy gets ready to jet off to her own annual family reunion. Wilma’s potato salad, fireworks, mosquitos, oh, Stormy can hardly wait. This week’s episode got Stormy all fired up to see the family. Even Aunt Vesta Mae, one of Stormy’s biggest fans. Aunt Vesta still uses dial up, so it takes her half of Tuesday morning to read each week’s column. And you should know, Stormy certainly appreciates that kind of devotion.

Country Goes Poop as Pop Goes Country on Nashville Star
Stormy began her Monday with a visit to the coffeehouse around the corner. Her trusty laptop in hand, she ordered the usual and settled in to read the morning headlines. Cruising along, Stormy came across a regular Monday morning read that just happened to mention Nashville Star. Stormy’s girlfriend, Hazel Smith, had some harsh words for John Rich, going so far as to say he’d never find a woman who would love him as much as he loves himself. Well, ouch, Hazel! Stormy’s bettin’ you’d marry him in a minute. You’d probably even iron all those jeans his granny makes for him, too.

“Mountain Music” Fails to take Third Town to the Nashville Star Summit
Week two of Nashville Star, and Stormy is ecstatic! It’s simply Stormy’s favorite season ever. Excitement, tension, anticipation all fill the air in the Acuff Theatre, along with some really poor cologne choices by guys with poor taste, but that’s another story altogether. Nonetheless, it’s a fabulous place to be each Monday night as the journey continues to name the newest Nashville Star. This week’s wait is over; Stormy has spoken.

Stormy Dishes All the Fan Fare & Revs up for Nashville Star
What is a self-respecting country music correspondent extraordinaire to do? After a week of the festival-formerly-known-as-Fan-Fair (At least that’s what Stormy’s mother tells her; Stormy isn’t nearly old enough to remember that.), Stormy was ready to collapse in an easy chair with a cold beverage and a good book. But it wasn’t to be. Not with the moment Stormy has been waiting for all year long, the much-anticipated network premiere of Nashville Star, launching its sixth season on Monday, June 9. So much country music news, so little time, so let’s get started.

Just a couple of reminders from Stormy: First, it’s hot in Las Vegas, like really, really hot (and not just the cute guys that surrounded Stormy.) Secondly, Stormy has declared a hug-free zone until the searing pain subsides. Yes, you guessed it, sunburn. Carrie Comes Home, Vote 4 Brad, and Country Musings
Call her your American Idol or your All-American Girl, but most definitely call her the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry ... Miss Carrie Underwood! Oh, you know you’re a big deal when the all-time biggest selling artist in country music, Mr. Garth Brooks, hops on his private plane and flies in to induct a fellow Okie. When you’re welcomed into country music’s most esteemed family by singing a duet with another fellow Oklahoman Vince Gill, indeed you have arrived. You can be sure that everyone knows your “last name,” that’s for certain. Oh, how far our little girl has come since she first stood in the warm glow of the Opry’s spotlight on June 10, 2005. Nearly three years and millions of albums later, we can now call Carrie our very own. Stormy is already counting down the days until Miss Underwood’s June 3, 2008, Opry return.

The Hacker Backers have spoken, and Angela Hacker is the Jennifer Hudson of Nashville. Well, okay, Jennifer has future movie roles to consider while Angela readies for an appearance on the world-famous Grand Ole Opry. And while Jennifer is polishing her Academy Award, Angela will be waxing her new Chevrolet pickup truck. And as Jennifer wades through a stack of endorsement deals, Angela is probably pulling into the nearest Sonic to redeem all the great coupons she won from Nashville Star’s major advertiser. Enough with the comparisons, Music City has a brand-new Nashville Star, Miss Angela Hacker.

Stormy Weather: Nashville Star (episode 8)
Unbeknownst to the contestants, Stormy spent a little time backstage with everyone prior to the big show at the Acuff Theatre. What charmers! If there’s a tattoo parlor between Music City and Columbia, Missouri, you can expect a “Mattie” tattoo adorning some part of Stormy’s body. Once again, those Versace sunglasses are a true lifesaver and identity concealer. Perhaps Chris will get a formal introduction to Stormy backstage at the Grand Ole Opry when he makes his big debut. That’s a pretty spectacular evening--getting to meet Stormy AND perform on the Opry. Toss in Little Jimmy Dickens and Porter Wagoner (not literally, of course, because that would hurt) and Chris can say he’s died and gone to heaven.

Stormy Weather: Nashville Star (episode 6)
It’s the simple things like a run-of-the-mill case of the flu that humbles Stormy. A fever hotter than Rascal Flatts’ new CD. Bedhead that would rival Ronnie Dunn’s rooster hair on his best day. Out of concern for country music’s most talented artists, Stormy declined invitations for at least three star-studded Music Row events this past week. If only Stormy could tell you which chart-topping hottie sent flowers to lift Stormy’s spirits. Oh, the envy, but these chapped lips will never tell. However, it was the love and support of Stormy’s dedicated and devoted readers that gave her the strength to get out of bed just in time for this week’s Nashville Star show.

Stormy was seated so close to big winner Keith Urban that she could smell the Nicole on him. Speaking of Keith’s would-be fiancé, Stormy can’t help but remind Nicole of what Stormy’s 98-year-old Mimmi says, “Never marry a boy prettier than you.” It’s advice that has served Stormy well.

Stormy arrived in Music City fresh off a week of spring break in Cancun sporting the most painful sunburn. Mind you, Stormy hasn't packed away her bikini and sunscreen just yet, but she has begun to give her credit cards a workout as she revamps her fall and winter wardrobe. Naturally, that has meant countless trips to New York for Stormy, and endless hours in stuffy, stale, first-class cabins. During Stormy's travels, she's been inundated with "Top 10" and "best of" lists heralding everything from fashion to music. While waiting out one particularly draining layover, Stormy thought who better to share her own favorites? Better yet, who better than Stormy to share her suggestions for future endeavors, be it music or business, for our country music favorites.
